The Angel’s Run – Forio d’Ischia

The Angel’s Run in Forio is an ancient tradition dating back to the 1600s, celebrating the meeting between the Madonna and the Risen Christ. Four statues – the Madonna, Christ, Saint John, and the Angel – are carried in procession by the same families. The highlight is the Angel’s run announcing the Resurrection, with chants, ritual bows, and strong community participation. The event concludes with the meeting of Mother and Son and a shower of flower petals along the main street. Sunday, April 5, 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
