The Sant'Anna Festival

The Sant'Anna Festival is celebrated on July 26th in Ischia Ponte and is dedicated to women and expectant mothers. The tradition, based on the hope of fertility, is linked to the small church of Sant'Anna, located on volcanic rocks, believed to be miraculous. The festival, which started in 1932, combines religious and allegorical rites. Decorated boats have been replaced by allegorical floats that parade on the water, telling stories related to the theme of the edition. The celebrations culminate with fireworks and the burning of the Castle.
